Being a compact city, Gothenburg is a pedestrian’s dream with all the city’s historic and contemporary sites within walking distance.

Liseberg

Liseberg, in the centre of Gothenburg, is Scandinavia’s biggest and best amusement park. If you think that conferences and meetings should have a fun element to them, then Liseberg is the place to do it. Get into the spirit of Swedish corporate culture by challenging your colleagues (and the boss) to a ‘pentathlon’ of fun events and enjoy Liseberg’s amusements, rides and live entertainment.

Liseberg’s newest attraction ‘AtmosFear’ is Europe’s tallest free-fall attraction at 146 metres above sea level. You might be able to keep your nerve making a cold call or holding a top level presentation – but can you cut it plunging towards earth at 100 km per hour and picking up 4 g? Come to Liseberg and see what you and your colleagues are really made of.

Universeum

Universeum is a giant science-learning centre in the middle of Gothenburg that encourages visitors to discover and learn about the natural sciences and technology. You can visit the Rain Forest Zone and try to spot a poison arrow frog, or visit the Ocean Zone and see how sharks and reef creatures live and feed. These are just two of the seven zones that take you on a fascinating journey of discovery and learning. You even get to perform real experiments.

 As part of your conference or meeting trip why not rent the entire Universeum? This brain expanding, thought provoking and fun learning centre is available for rent in the evenings and its staff will provide you with guided tours and catering etc.

Volvo Museum

The Volvo Museum is at the seafront area of Arendal just outside the city. If you like Volvo cars, you’ll love this state-of-the-art museum and tribute to this iconic Swedish brand. The museum traces the story of Volvo from its beginnings in 1927 to present day and beyond with its exhibition of new concept cars and buses. At the museum you get to see Volvo cars, trucks, buses, construction equipment, as well as boat and jet engines. There’s more to Volvo than you might think. Come here and find out.

Kungsportsplatsen in the centre of Gothenburg is where you catch one of the ‘Paddan’ open-top boats for a classic 17th century canal tour of the city. The 50-minute boat trip with audio guide in English, takes you under 20 bridges, in and around town, and takes in the impressive Älvsborg fortress, Gothenburg harbour, old wharfs, as well as the new and old Gothenburg.
