On the water
Hop on a robust RIB boat, head for the archipelago at a rip-roaring 45 knots per hour, and picnic on smoked meat and salmon on an uninhabited island surrounded by endless expanses of glittering ocean. If you want to put a bit of muscle into it, jump into a kayak or canoe. Carry your bed on your back, shore up and camp out on the skerry or archipelago island of your choice. Fish for your dinner, BBQ at sunset, and snooze under the stars.
Behind the wheel
Gokarting Majorna is gokarting gone wild. Not only have they a streamlined lacquered concrete surface for extra speed, but you can also skid around like a lunatic in open competition with your colleagues. Get your lap time monitored and your picture taken as you go around the bend.
Off the beaten track
Chess on ice anyone? Curling is about manoeuvring and strategy. Shouting and plain old elbow grease gets it there with a lot of teamwork and manic ice polishing thrown in for good measure. Göteborgs Curlingklubb arranges trial sessions for companies.
Amusement park
Liseberg amusement park and gardens is one-stop-shop for action and adrenaline theme park style. Europe’s biggest (and best) amusement park really does pack it all in, year round. You can do everything from ice-skating and skiing to bumper cars, roller coasters and other high-velocity rides or even catch a concert.
Up in the air
There’s no hiding the fact that Sweden is obsessed with hot air balloons and Gothenburg is no different. From spring through autumn, the sky is a bit of a hot air balloon highway. But worry not. No bumpers up there, just pleasant floating, stunning views of the archipelago and a bit of a thrill with the odd champagne spill.
